Age: 21+

Class Description: Discover the joy of painting and encounter the power of creative freedom in a fun and relaxing atmosphere! We will focus on the artistic process itself putting aside preconceived notions of “what is” and “isn’t” art. The artist will discuss the use of color and pattern in art and demonstrate how to start the painting process. No prior art experience is necessary – only your willingness to explore.


Lynn Newman is exhibiting his work at the Nicolaysen Art Museum June 1- August 18, 2019. Lynn is a painter who has taught art for more than 30 years from Kindergarten to college classes and adult workshops. His philosophy of art and teaching can best be described as: “We learn by doing, by putting aside preconceptions and by asking questions as we go.” To learn more about the artist visit:
