AMAZING EXHIBITS AT THE NIC

Women in the Permanent Collection

May 22 — September 20

The NIC continues to showcase talented female artists all year long for our Year of the Woman series, and these pieces each tell a part of their unique story

Georgia Rowswell: Layer, Fold, Unfold

September 25 — December 27

Georgia has been working as a professional studio artist for many years. Her primary influence is the beauty and interest she sees in nature's patterns, colors, and textures.

Karen Henneck: The Poetry of Color

September 25 — December 27

Karen Henneck has always loved the Western landscape. She uses pastels with their brilliance and depth of color to capture the beautiful scenes.

Sharon Merschat: Backcountry

October 2 — January 12

Sharon Merschat's approach to creating artwork proceeds by making marks, brushing areas with colors, and playing with the textures of collage.  This spontaneous beginning morphs into carving out images by adding or subtracting to the surface to see what is born.

Florence Alfano McEwin: Red Riding Hood Speaks

October 2 — December 27

Florence Alfano McEwin is a Wyoming artist of print and paint mediums who often merges the two pursuits while exploring concepts beyond the making process. Her prints of the Red Riding Hood Series are wry commentaries on daily male/female interactions and mundane domestic chores.

Kelsey McDonnell: Four Years of Flowers

October 2 — January 12

Kelsey McDonnell is an award-winning artist living and working at the base of the Big Horn Mountains in Wyoming. Her artwork has shown across Wyoming and Montana.
