Dia de los Muertos at the NIC!

Celebrate the Day of the Dead with the NIC! 🥳
This holiday originated in Mexico for prayer and remembrance of friends and family members who have died. We want to welcome anyone interested in creating an ofrenda (altar) to email our Curator of Education, Michelle Miller, at michelle@thenic.org. We will begin building ofrendas on October 29th and during the week before the event on Friday, November 4th.
In addition to celebrating in this way, we will have a sugar skull face painting contest, an activity to learn how to make papel picado, a traditional Mexican decorative craft made by cutting elaborate designs into sheets of tissue paper, and the students of Park Elementary will be putting on a few performances. Please make plans to join us!
