Mixed media is an artwork in which more than one medium or material has been employed. Assemblages and collages are two common examples of art using different media that will make use of materials including cloth, paper, wood and found objects.
Mixed media is all about breaking the boundaries between different art forms.
The beauty of mixed media art is the flexibility to start with things around you and expand from there.
WHY DO YOU THINK SHE DOES IT?
The artist combines words, photographs, ‘lost” items and everyday objects in her work to tell a story. Some stories are very short and some are very long. Weed arranges the pieces, some forgotten, some lost or thrown out by people, in a playful and original way to make us think, feel and imagine.
